Oleatex is a 100% vegan and sustainable plant-derived next-gen material produced from biowastes obtained mainly from the olive industry.

Oleago is the company that invented, manufactures, markets, and sells Oleatex. Oleago’s headquarter and manufacturing plant is in Istanbul, Turkey with subsidiaries in USA, Germany, UK, South Africa and Bangladesh.

“Olea” comes from ancient Greek and means olive. “Go“is an indicator to go and starting innovation. As a result, Oleago refers starting of innovations from Olive.

The whole process from raw material to the final product is completed in local and easily accessible locations in Turkey.

Both raw material and biotex production processes are patented. Oleago company owns the trademark to the name of Oleatex.

We use plant-based wastes with no food value for humans and animals. Our raw material is 100% bio-based and 100% biodegradable. Oleatex is scalable and can be produced in high quantities to meet the industrial demand. Furthermore, Oleatex reduces carbon emission at least 6 times than manufacturing petroleum-based products. It is the best alternative in terms of price, quality, and sustainability. Oleatex refuses to use materials derived from resources with nutritional value such as PLA. That’s why every single percent of bio-based ratio has a higher value.

Oleatex has certifications from USDA as 63% and DIN as 91% biobased. Oleatex also has PETA certification and V-label certification provided by European Vegetarian Union which certifies that it is %100 Vegan. Please contact with us to reach our other certifications.

Oleatex is tested by Intertek and SGS, a globally known independent testing company that runs more than 35 physical and chemical tests that are generally asked in the industry. These tests have proven the quality of Oleatex is exceeding the industry average expectations.

Oleatex is made to your order, and we don’t carry any type in our inventory except the samples. In general, Oleatex can be produced in 3 weeks up to 100.000 meters (app. 110.000 yards) in total. Which means after your order is processed Oleatex can be shipped in a month and delivery time varies to the destination and the way of requested transportation. Please contact us to learn our current processing time due to orders in progress and if you think to order more than 100.000 meters monthly.

Since PU is a petroleum-based material, choosing Oleatex in your products allows you to reduce using petroleum-based materials up to 90%. When you choose Olatex instead of adding petroleum-based virgin materials to the nature which won’t be biodegraded in nature for centuries, you support olive industry to get rid of the waste which has no alternative using areas. Furthermore, all activities from raw material production to final product Oleatex are completed in a 100km (app 62miles) radius diameter which allows us to keep our carbon footprint very low.

Oleatex supports 11 of 17 UNSDGS, meaning more than %65 of the goals are directly supported by using Oleatex in your final products. This can be clearly accepted as a big achievement in the industry as the highest meeting ratio among all. Oleatex is primarily addressing 9th, 12th, and 13th goals of UNDGS.

TECHNICAL QUESTIONS

We do not prefer using PVC in Oleatex. If you believe that using PVC is mandatory for a reason in your project, we can offer using certified biobased PVC as a substitute. If this is the case for your company, please do not hesitate to contact us for having further discussions.

Chemical or Natural dyes

Oleatex is produced as a roll of 250 (140 cm width) meters at least which is ready to use. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need a cut and ready-to-use form of Oleatex.

We need a surface for coating the biotex on. This surface can be chosen as cotton, %100 organic cotton, recycled polyester, linen, viscose, etc. which depends on what would be made by Oleatex such as bags, clothes, etc.

Most of the features that can be given to traditional synthetic leather can be given to Oleatex as well. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need a special feature on your Oleatex. We would be happy to help you.

Yes, our products are 100% vegan and Oleatex has V-Label by European Vegetarian Union that proves it is 100% Vegan.

Shipping cost depends on the volume and the delivery destination of your order. Shipping cost and time must be discussed and agreed upon for each project at each time with the given information by carriers and others involving third parties.

After oil extraction, the remaining part is called pomace. This pomace can’t be used as compost or fertilizer in the soil and can’t be used as food for humans and animals either. On the other hand, there is any industry that demands this pomace for any stage of their production process. As a result, we don’t expect any raw material shortage as the olive industry continues to live. And there is no identified risk of supply for Oleatex for the short or long term.

6 different types of Oleatex are available today. Those can be used for clothing, footwear, bags, binding, labeling, and upholstery (furniture). MOQ is 250 meters (app 273 yards) for each type. Each color and each type are accepted as a different kind. Linear meter is 1.40 meters (app. 1.53 yards).
